PROCUREMENT BUYER (Food industry)

Source, evaluate, and manage suppliers of food ingredients, packaging materials, and related products

Negotiate pricing, contracts, lead times, and payment terms to achieve cost savings and supply reliability

Issue purchase orders and monitor order fulfillment, delivery schedules, and inventory levels

Ensure all purchased materials comply with food safety standards, quality specifications, and regulatory requirements 

Collaborate with Quality Assurance, Production, and R&D teams to ensure material suitability and consistency

Monitor market trends, commodity prices, and supplier performance to mitigate supply risks

Maintain accurate procurement records, contracts, and supplier documentation

Resolve supply issues, shortages, or quality concerns in a timely manner

Support audits and inspections by providing procurement-related documentation

Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business, Food Science, or a related field

Proven experience as a Procurement Buyer or Purchasing Officer in the food or FMCG industry

Strong knowledge of food ingredients, packaging materials, and supplier markets

Familiarity with food safety and quality standards (HACCP, ISO 22000, BRC, etc.)

Excellent negotiation, communication, and vendor management skills

Strong analytical and cost-control mindset

Proficient in ERP systems and Microsoft Excel

Ability to work in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
